Multifeeder Technology recognizes the wide range of needs in customer
applications and is one of the few manufacturers to offer flexible, customized
solutions. Choose plug-and-play units that fit easily with just about any
equipment, or opt for custom modifications that can meet specific needs. Our
application engineers are ready to solve your packaging problems, and we pride
ourselves on delivering system solutions that are feature-packed and very
competitively priced.
Tipping System
These example systems show packaging machinery integrated with Multifeeder
Technology friction feeders and automatic drop tables. The first example is a
"Tipping System" and it demonstrates a method of securing one
product to another product with hot melt adhesive. The system consists of two
Multifeeder friction feeders, a vacuum conveyor, an extruded hot melt adhesive
system and a belt discharge conveyor. The first Multifeeder friction feeder
dispenses the bottom product onto a vacuum conveyor. The product advances and
holt melt adhesive is placed on the moving product. The second Multifeeder
friction feeder, a MFT250, places the top product onto the hot melt adhesive
that is in position on the first product. The combined products then move
beneath a pressure roller to secure them together. The sealed products advance
to a 90 degree belt conveyor for "shingling batching" or collating
and accumulating prior to the casing operation.
Multifeeder's superior computer controlled motor technology allows placement
accuracy of up to +/- .5mm. This cost effective system can be configured to
meet the requirements of most applications, and presents a finished product
that can easily be separated by the end consumer because of the low tack
adhesive.

The above image is a MFT 250 mounted onto a bobst folder gluer. The MFT makes
feeding CD's onto a folder-gluer easy. The high speed capability makes the MFT
friction feeder the machine of choice.
Wrapping System
This
second example system is a "Wrapping System". All three Multifeeder
friction feeder's are MFT250's and two of them incorporate automatic drop
tables. As the conveyor moves left to right, the first friction feeder
dispenses a single product and the next two ADT's each drop a count of
different stacked products onto the first product. The resulting total stack
then enters the wrapping machine to be wrapped, and can then be sent for
further processing or casing.
Modular In-Line Tipping System
Multifeeder Technology manufactures automatic tipping systems that are used to
feed a product, and then attach another item to the first product with
adhesive. The in-line tipping system shown to the right consists fo a modular
frame that can be positioned, by forklift truck, above an existing product
conveyor. As the product advances below the modular frame, it is automatically
sensed by the hot melt adhesive system and places adhesive onto the surface of
the product.
The MFT350 Friction Feeder automatically senses
the prepared primary product, and with a timed placement puts the second
product on the adhesive. The combined unit passes beneath a compression roller
that securely attaches the two items and is ready for final packaging. The
system can be easily moved to another production line or for offline
production with a forklift. For standard production, the system can be turned
off to allow a normal production flow beneath the system.
Multifeeder's superior computer-controlled servo motor technology monitors
and controls the feeding and counting process, and allows placement of the
products with high accuracy. This cost-effective system presents a finished
product with the promotional item attached, which can be separated by the
consumer thanks to a low-tack adhesive. A variety of shapes, thickness,
materials, and sizes can be fed automatically.
Straddle Mounted Collating Systems
Multifeeder Technology designs and manufactures automatic product feeding and
collating systems that will count, accumulate and stack a variety of shapes,
thickness and sized items for further packaging into film wrapping, cartons,
trays, and other packaging methods.
The system consists of sufficient MFT friction feeders to feed the number
of items to be collated. The products are deposited into flites of the
conveyor as the conveyor advances. At each friction feeder station, a product
is selected and placed into a flite, and each additional feeder station places
an additional product on top of the accumulated stack in that flite of
products. The accumulated products are then discharged from the system ready
for further processing and packaging. Products can be identical or dissimilar
in size and shape.
Each friction feeder is computer controlled with
servo motor technology providing the most accurate and reliable friction
feeding system available. This modular system is PLC controlled and can
accommodate up to 64 friction feeder stations.
Mid-sized Collating Systems
Multifeeder Technology designs and manufactures automatic friction feeding
machines and systems of unmatched performance. When joined with a PLC
(programmable logic controller), two of the friction feeders provide a system
to automatically alternately feed products into one stack, for precise control
and accuracy. Products can be dissimilar, for example a product followed by an
instruction sheet or, similar, with a separator sheet or without a separator
sheet.
The PLC signals the first feeder to feed and waits for a cycle complete
signal before allowing the second feeder to feed. This insures that the first
item has been fed.
The friction feeders feed one after the other to
a predetermined count and automatically stop. The stack can be squared during
the counting process. The accumulated stack is automatically or manually
removed from the collating area ready for the next stacking operation to
begin.
This system provides fast, accurate counts without the production concern
of repetitive motion injuries that can occur in this process.
High Speed Accurate Counting with Properly Squared Stacks of Paper
Multifeeder Technology manufactures automatic paper feeding and collating
systems that create square stacks of paper while accumulating accurately to
the correct count. This system continuously aligns the stack in both the X and
Y direction since it is very costly to automatically square stacks of paper
after they have been accumulated. Excellent product eye appeal for customers
is the result.
The squared stacks are then transferred onto the Collating conveyer
specifically designed by Multifeeder to maintain the square stack of paper,
monitors and controls the feeding and counting process, providing accurate
product counts of unmatched speeds while gently maintaining optimum quality.
Kluge Unifold CD Tipping System
The Kluge folder gluer machine feeds a base sheet; a hot melt glue machine
applies glue to the base sheet. The MFT 250 XED Friction
Feeder feeds an insert into the pinch point of a Pressure Roller Assembly
to assure proper place of the insert. An optional encoder can be mounted to
the folder gluer machine connected to the MFT Friction Feeder to monitor the
speed of the folder gluer machine. This allows the feeder to compensate its
timing to assure proper placement of the insert regardless of the speed of the
folder gluer machine.

Align and Hold Box System
The
Align and Hold System consists two rails with air cylinders to align and hold
boxes on a conveyor to feed into. The boxes can be presented to the system in
a random manner and the system will align and cue the boxes to allow the
feeder to feed a product or products into a precise location of the box. This
system also allows the feeder to feed a piece that is almost the same size as
the box.
